How To Check if Someone Is a Licensed Real Estate Agent in Texas
License Lookup
TREC is the state agency that governs real estate in Texas. It is responsible for issuing and renewing licenses, as well as enforcing the real estate rules and regulations.
In order to see if you are working with a licensed agent, head over to TREC's license lookup portal.
On the portal, you will be able to search by the agent's name, brokerage name, or email address. You can also filter for agents by their city, county, or zip code.

You can also check for disciplinary actions that have been taken against the agent or brokerage here.
Becoming a real estate agent
If you want to become an agent, the process is easy. You must take 180 hours of classes, perform a background check, and pass the state administered exam. You can find more information here. If you're interested in working for UMoveFree, let us know!
Submitting a complaint
If you have any issues, you can submit a complaint by filing out the TREC complain form and mailing it or emailing to the TREC office.
