TREC is the state agency that governs real estate in Texas. It is responsible for issuing and renewing licenses, as well as enforcing the real estate rules and regulations.
In order to see if you are working with a licensed agent, head over to TREC's license lookup portal.
TREC's License Holder Search
On the portal, you will be able to search by the agent's name, brokerage name, or email address. You can also filter for agents by their city, county, or zip code.
You can also check for disciplinary actions that have been taken against the agent or brokerage here.
Becoming a real estate agent
